.NET Development

.NET is not one of several stacks we dabble in. It's the one every system we've shipped is built on, from a festival ticketing platform handling 50,000+ transactions to a workshop portal that replaced QuickBooks. If you need a .NET application built, rescued or upgraded, you'll be working with engineers who have spent 15 to 20 years on the Microsoft stack, including a lead developer role at Betfred.

New .NET Applications

Web applications, internal systems and multi-tenant SaaS platforms on .NET 10, the current long-term support release. ASP.NET Core APIs, Entity Framework Core, SQL Server or PostgreSQL, with React or server-rendered HTMX on the front end depending on what the product needs. Local development runs on .NET Aspire, and everything deploys to Azure through infrastructure-as-code.

Upgrades From .NET Framework

A lot of UK businesses still run on .NET Framework 4.x applications that nobody wants to touch. We assess what you have, then move it to modern .NET in stages, keeping the system running throughout. You get supported software, cheaper Linux or container hosting, and a codebase new developers can actually work on.

Taking Over an Existing System

If your developer has left or your agency has gone quiet, we can take over a .NET codebase. We start with a written health check covering security, dependencies, hosting and test coverage, fix what's urgent first, and then carry on developing it. You own the code and the Azure subscription throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which versions of .NET do you work with?

New builds use .NET 10, the current long-term support release, which keeps you on a supported version until November 2028. We also work with older .NET Core versions and .NET Framework 4.x, usually as part of a staged upgrade to modern .NET.

Can you work on a .NET system another developer built?

Yes. We start with a short health check, usually one or two days at our consultancy rate, so you know what you're dealing with before committing to anything bigger. It covers the architecture, security, outdated packages, hosting costs and the riskiest areas of the code, written up in plain English with a prioritised list of what to fix.

Do you only build on Azure?

Azure is where we're strongest and what we recommend for most .NET workloads, with UK South hosting for data residency. Modern .NET runs happily in containers anywhere, so if you're already committed to AWS or another host we can discuss it.

How much does a .NET project cost?

A focused MVP starts from around £8,000, a full multi-tenant SaaS platform is typically £30,000 to £80,000, and larger enterprise builds go beyond that. Consultancy and health checks are £500 to £800 per day. The pricing page has the full breakdown.

Can a senior .NET developer join our team on a day rate?

Yes, through our technical consultancy service at £500 to £800 a day, for architecture, code reviews, upgrades or hands-on work on the hardest parts of your system. For a new system built from scratch, we'd normally suggest running it as a project with us instead, with one team accountable for the result.
