We're Hiring

Junior Software Developer

Zim Digital is a family-owned software consultancy building bespoke applications, SaaS platforms and AI automation for businesses and public sector clients across the UK. We are looking for a junior developer who has a solid grasp of the fundamentals and wants to grow into a capable full stack engineer on real production software.

Contract
Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week

Our Stack

This is a full stack role. We do not expect you to know all of this on day one.

  • C# / .NET
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Microsoft Azure
  • SQL
  • AI and automation

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain features across the full stack, from the database and APIs to the user interface
  • Work on production software for our clients and our own products
  • Learn from our team through code review and day-to-day support
  • Help build AI and automation solutions as you gain experience

What We're Looking For

  • A good understanding of core software principles or web development
  • Projects you can show us and talk through, whether from study, a bootcamp, work or your own time
  • Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions and act on feedback
  • The self-discipline and communication skills to work well remotely

Nice to Have

  • A degree in computer science or a related subject. It is a real plus, but not essential if your projects show what you can do
  • Experience with any part of our stack. We do not expect you to know all of it, and that is what the training is for

What We Offer

  • Mentoring from our experienced team, plus training materials to help you grow
  • Fully remote working from anywhere in the UK
  • 35 hours per week, with core hours of 10:00 to 15:00
  • Real flexibility around those hours. If you need to nip out for an appointment or pick the children up from school, that's fine. We're human, and we know life is more important than a job
  • A relaxed working environment
  • All the equipment you need, supplied by us
  • Occasional in-person team meet-ups, with plenty of notice so they are not an inconvenience

Eligibility

  • You must live in the UK and have the existing right to work here
  • We are unable to offer visa sponsorship
